About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the generating station inventory of materials, parts and supplies. Performs the function of ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing and issuing of materials used by company personnel. The role involves managing and maintaining computerized Material Management Systems and other material management and procurement software systems. It also requires developing and maintaining business relationships with suppliers, internal buyers, and departments for procurement activities and material management. The coordinator will maintain accurate records of combustion turbine parts history, inspection, and pedigree, as well as inventory, receipt, and distribution of materials. They will assist plant management and personnel with locating, procuring, and handling needed parts and materials, and ensure parts and materials are organized and storage areas are kept neat and orderly. The role includes operating material handling equipment, performing clean-up and preservation tasks, and supporting facility improvements through continuous improvement activities. Additionally, the position requires alerting authorities of significant operational issues and demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to safe work practices. The role may involve participating in operations, maintenance, repair, and testing as qualified, and performing other related duties. This position is connected to the operation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of a combined cycle plant and may require working at locations other than Emery Generating Station.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 2 years of experience and/or equivalent in storeroom operations, gas turbine maintenance and gas turbine parts inspection
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Good theoretical knowledge of combined cycle generating station systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, P&ID’s, technical manuals; mechanical aptitude; reading and math knowledge.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of First Aid & CPR.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment during emergencies.
  • Capacity for quick, accurate decisions and speed of execution.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Familiarity with and ability to use various computer applications.

  • Possess skills in reading, basic math and electricity and have mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to remain calm during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains the computerized Material Management Systems and any other material management and procurement software systems.
  • Develops and maintains business relationships with suppliers, internal buyers and departments for procurement activities and material management.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of combustion turbine parts history, inspection and pedigree; accurate records of inventory, receipt, and distribution of materials.
  • Assist plant management and personnel with locating, procuring, loading/unloading needed parts and materials to support plant needs.
  • Organize parts and materials; Keep the warehouse and other storage areas in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Safely operate a forklift, Terex, pallet jack, trailer and other materials handling equipment as needed.
  • Perform clean-up and preservation tasks throughout the facility.
  • Support facility safety, productivity, reliability and efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
  • Alerts the proper authorities, regulatory agencies, internal personnel and plant management of any significant operational issues including fires, spills, process bypasses, injury, accident, etc.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and safe work practices. This requires observing and following safety rules, policies, and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors, which may lead to accidents.
  • Participates in work in all areas of operations, maintenance, repair and testing, as qualified, as needed.
  • Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
  • Performs a variety of work connected with operation, maintenance and preventive maintenance of a combined cycle plant.
  • May at times be required to work at locations other than at Emery Generating Station as needed.
