About The Position

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Under general supervision, is required to use oxyacetylene, electric welding and heat fusion methods to join high- and low-pressure vessels, meter and regulator stations, pipeline or piping systems. This role involves laying out, measuring, cutting, fitting, and preparing materials for joining, as well as performing other duties related to the maintenance and repair of distribution piping and equipment. The successful candidate must reside within 20 miles of the reporting office address listed on this posting.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months progressive experience in pipefitting work.
  • Minimum of one (1) year training and experience in welding in the gas or related utility industry.
  • Ability to work from and complete legible construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with the hazards involved in welding and fusing in the presence of gas vapors.
  • Satisfactorily completed a course of instruction at a Cascade Natural Gas Corporation welding and fusion school.
  • Must secure and maintain a valid first aid card.
  • Must be able to qualify for and acquire commercial driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.

Nice To Haves

  • Reside within a twenty (20) mile radius from district office no later than 90 days from your start date in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Use oxyacetylene, electric welding and heat fusion methods to perform joining operations necessary to construct and maintain either high- and low-pressure vessels, meter and regulator stations, pipeline or piping systems.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for joining.
  • Perform other duties relating to the maintenance and repair of distribution piping and equipment.
  • Protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Maintain proficiency in oxyacetylene, arc welding and fusing through qualification tests.
  • Submit test coupons as required and pass qualification tests outlined in Cascade’s Company Procedures or the Heat Fusion Qualification Guide.
