About The Position

This role involves creating quality welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and ensuring welds pass inspection. The welder will prepare products by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum parts. Responsibilities include changing wire and welding consumables as needed, changing gas tanks, inspecting worksites for obstructions, and planning installation sequences to avoid obstructions and other workers. The position also requires performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment, and observing all safety and company policies.

Requirements

• Strong, hands-on background in welding of plate, piping (including small bore) and structural components, including carbon steel and stainless steel (where applicable), using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW welding processes and equipment
• Minimum 5 years of industrial welding experience desired, but will consider lesser experience depending upon individual

Nice To Haves

• Associate Degree or trade school certification in craft preferred, but significant hands-on experience will also be considered

Responsibilities

• Create quality welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and have welds pass inspection/examination in accordance with ASME Sec IX acceptance criteria and utilizing typical welding inspection non-destructive examination methods
• Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts
• Change wire, welding, as needed
• Change gas tanks as required
• Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions
• Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
• Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools and equipment
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as required
