About The Position

ESN is seeking a Combat System Maintenance Coordinator (CSMC) to provide project management and maintenance coordination support to COMNAVAIRLANT for an assigned Aircraft Carrier. The role supports maintenance coordination both in port and at sea throughout the carrier maintenance cycle, from deployment and return to home port through pre-availability planning, CNO Availability execution, shakedown, work-up, and deployment.

The CSMC is assigned by, reports to, and represents COMNAVAIRLANT Ship's Material Directorate. The coordinator supports resolution of equipment casualties, availability planning, logistics for casualty repairs, and TYCOM oversight of availability and maintenance periods, providing reports to CNAL N431. The role coordinates with organizations including NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVWARSYSCOM, PEO C4I, and public and private shipyards, as applicable.

The position is located on-site at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. The coordinator must be able to get underway aboard a CVN and, when the CVN is in port, work aboard the ship daily to support Combat Systems Officer requirements. Attendance at Combat Systems Conferences and Shipyard Project Team meetings is required. A Secret clearance is required.

Requirements

• Must be able to get underway aboard a CVN.
• Afloat service operating and managing afloat CVN Combat System suites in all aspects of C5I.
• Complete understanding of CVN Combat Systems, including troubleshooting and applying corrective actions.
• Understanding of the Navy modernization process, including SCD, modifications, Project Team execution, Modernization Readiness Assessment, and Pre-Installation Check Out.
• Understanding of C5I modernization integration strategy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

• BS degree recommended.
• Highly qualified individuals will be former E-7 and above, including LDOs and CWOs with a Combat Systems background.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Aircraft Carrier maintenance both in port and at sea throughout the maintenance cycle, including deployment, return to home port, pre-availability planning, CNO Availability execution, shakedown, work-up, and deployment.
• Support the assigned Aircraft Carrier in resolving equipment casualties and planning availabilities.
• Coordinate logistics to facilitate casualty repairs.
• Provide TYCOM oversight of availability and maintenance periods and submit reports to CNAL N431.
• Coordinate with NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVWARSYSCOM, PEO C4I, and public and private shipyards, as applicable.
• Get underway aboard a CVN and, when the CVN is in port, work aboard daily to support Combat Systems Officer requirements.
• Attend Combat Systems Conferences and Shipyard Project Team meetings.
• Troubleshoot CVN Combat Systems, apply corrective actions, and support modernization integration and execution.
• Redline or develop Combat System Interface Diagrams (CSID) and prepare periodic status reports.
