About The Position

The primary duty of a Lab Instructor is assisting the WCUCOM faculty in lab-related courses at the graduate, medical school level. This role involves various responsibilities depending on the specific course level, including participating in Exam Skills labs, teaching procedures, assisting with POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound), running simulations, facilitating small groups, and providing grading resources for OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations).

Requirements

  • A graduate of a college or school of medicine accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
  • Experience in family medicine, general practice, or equivalent training

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Exam Skills lab, teach/discuss/answer student questions
  • Faculty proctor for grading “Mega Test” and “Mini Mega Test”
  • Teach procedures, help with POCUS and run simulation
  • Provide facilitation for small groups
  • Facilitate faculty evaluations for SPT performance feedback
  • Lecture as needed as it relates to specialty
  • Provide grading resources for OSCEs
