About The Position

Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Colorectal Surgeon to join a collegial, well-established Academic practice at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. Our team offers the full range of Colorectal surgical services. We are engaged in medical student, general surgery resident as well as colorectal fellowship education; and we are actively involved in research and clinical trials. This is an opportunity to replace a 4th colorectal surgeon in a busy clinical academic practice. The appointment will be at the Assistant/Associate or Full professor level, dependent on qualifications. Candidates with a proven track record of academic achievement will be prioritized. The program provides comprehensive colorectal care, participates extensively in medical student, resident, and fellow training, and maintains a strong commitment to research and clinical innovation.

Requirements

  • Board Certification/Eligibility (American board of Surgery and American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons)
  • Active DEA license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience post-fellowship
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
  • Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive colorectal care.
  • Participate extensively in medical student, resident, and fellow training.
  • Engage in research and clinical trials.
  • Perform minimally invasive surgery (MIS) including laparoscopic, robotic, and TAMIS.
  • Collaborate with Gastroenterology and other subspecialists.
  • Participate in General Surgery resident education.
  • Participate in Colorectal Surgery fellowship program.
  • Conduct weekly colorectal tumor board/educational conferences.
