About The Position

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group is seeking a fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon to join the Department of Surgery, Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery, as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery. This role involves managing a wide range of conditions including colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, and complex anorectal issues using various surgical approaches. The position requires a commitment to research and education, working with medical students, residents, and fellows. The division services multiple practice settings, including an academic medical center, community cancer programs, and satellite clinics, with access to nine robotic platforms across all settings. Leadership opportunities are available within the division. The department's mission is to foster the professional and academic growth of surgical faculty and trainees while upholding the Loma Linda University mission of whole-person care. The faculty can also participate in global surgery initiatives.

Requirements

  • Fellowship trained in colon and rectal surgery.
  • Board eligible/board certified in surgery.
  • Possess appropriate medical licensure.
  • Commitment to research and education.
  • California residency and medical licensure required upon start date.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients with colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, and complex anorectal issues.
  • Utilize endoscopic, trans-anal, open, and advanced laparoscopic/robotic surgical approaches.
  • Engage in research and education, working with medical students, surgical residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program and interact with Complex General Surgical Oncology fellows.
  • Provide leadership within the division.
  • Serve patients across various practice settings including an academic medical center, community cancer programs, and satellite clinics.
