About The Position

Tonkin Parts Center is seeking an experienced parts professional to join their team, specializing in providing OEM parts to collision repair shops across the Pacific Northwest. The role involves managing inbound sales calls and electronic orders, processing parts orders, and building long-term relationships with shop customers. The company operates a 150,000 sq ft warehouse with over $19 million in inventory from major manufacturers. This position offers a professional office setting with no nights, weekends, or walk-up customers, focusing solely on electronic or phone sales to collision industry professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience in a new car dealership parts department, or collision center parts department.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to assist customers effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, and any of the following ordering platforms; CCC, OPS Trax, OEC- Collision Link, and Parts Trader.
  • Accuracy in processing orders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Minimum educational requirement.
  • Adaptability and Willingness to Learn.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to wholesale clients, helping them obtain the required parts or accessories to repair the vehicles in their shops.
  • Locate or order parts as needed, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Prepare and process invoices for parts to be delivered to customer base of over 4000 customers.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Provide ETA's to customers.
  • Process special order parts requests and follow up on back-ordered items.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Develop a deep understanding of automotive parts and their applications, staying updated with the latest industry trends and product developments.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers in selecting the right parts, identifying upselling opportunities to increase revenue.
