About The Position

This entry-level position will be involved in a broad range of civil engineering projects, such as water/wastewater/stormwater, transportation, and site development. Qualified candidates should be dependable, accountable, flexible with a strong desire to learn, and must have a solid work ethic and commitment to deadlines. The DIG team works collaboratively with public and private sectors to accurately plan site developments, storm water management, transportation, and more. Requirements

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental engineering or other related field required.
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
  • A university student with who has completed at least through their junior year.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and organized with a strong work ethic.
  • Dependable, accountable, flexible with a strong desire to learn.

  • Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern that is a senior may receive an offer of full-time employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
  • Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Analyze and resolve problems.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment.
