About The Position

The College Work Study Student supports CSN Libraries at the Henderson Campus during Spring 2027. The role assists students and staff by checking library materials in and out through automated library information systems, shelving and maintaining materials, issuing library cards, answering calls, and helping walk-in students with office equipment, printing, and computer-related issues. The position also includes daily cleaning and dusting and other duties as assigned. Services benefit CSN students and staff. Work experience in the department supports Communication, English, Sociology, and Business Administration degree or certificate programs. Applicants must have completed the current year's FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package. The position pays $14.00 per hour and offers up to 20 hours of work per week.

Requirements

• Complete the current year's FAFSA and accept the Student Employment Award in the Financial Aid Package.
• Have computer experience.
• Alphabetize accurately and quickly.
• Be able to push heavy book carts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to bend, stoop, stand, and/or sit for long periods.
• Be dependable and punctual.

• Ability to interact and communicate well with others in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and courtesy.
• Basic office equipment troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in and out for users using automated library information systems.
• Shelve library materials multiple times a day, perform shelf-reading, and dust assigned sections as scheduled.
• Issue new and replacement library cards to patrons.
• Answer and transfer calls on a multi-line phone.
• Assist walk-in students with general office equipment, printing, and computer-related issues.
• Perform daily cleaning and dusting.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
