About The Position
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a motivated Federal Work Study student for the Fall 2026 semester to support the Business Administration Department, specifically the Business Venture Program. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and community engagement, allowing the student to support real entrepreneurial ventures. The student will collaborate with faculty, staff, student entrepreneurs, and community partners, while also building a professional portfolio. This position is ideal for students looking to gain practical experience in social media strategy, branding, photography, videography, and project management, while strengthening their communication, collaboration, and professional skills.
Requirements
- Must have completed this year's FAFSA
- Must have accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package
- Proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Proficiency in PowerPoint
- Knowledge of social media platforms
Nice To Haves
- Interest in Marketing, Communications, Business, Entrepreneurship, Journalism, Photography, or Graphic Design
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Instagram, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Photograph Business Department events and entrepreneurial activities
- Capture and edit short-form video content
- Create Instagram Reels, Stories, graphics, and promotional materials
- Assist with content planning, scheduling, and publishing
- Write captions and marketing copy
- Interview students, faculty, alumni, and community partners
- Organize digital media assets
- Support marketing campaigns and community outreach
- Assist with entrepreneurship events and business showcases
- Develop the aptitude to create and maintain a professional marketing portfolio through hands-on project experience
- Gain practical experience in social media strategy, branding, photography, videography, and project management
- Strengthen communication, collaboration, and professional skills by working with faculty, staff, student entrepreneurs, and community partners
