About The Position

Buckle up, future college grads -- American Implement's CULTIVATE Internship Program is your backstage pass to the fast-paced world of John Deere dealerships! This isn't your average summer gig. You'll be learning by doing, making real contributions, and soaking up insider knowledge in one of two awesome tracks: 1) Sales/Precision Ag Track based at one of our 15 locations 2) Aftermarket based at one of our 15 locations. Interns will complete integral responsibilities and projects within their respective departments and unique, specific projects to earn a deeper understanding of how the entirety of the dealership works during their paid summer position, lasting at least 11 weeks.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student enrolled in a program that is ag-related or have high interest in applying their education towards the ag-industry.
  • Examples include: Agribusiness, Ag Communications, Ag Technology, Ag Engineering, Agronomy, Business or Marketing.
  • Minimum of 2.7 GPA
  • Current Sophomore or Junior preferred, graduating Seniors will also be considered
  • Availability to work a 40-hour+ week during summer months
  • At least 18 years of age with valid driver’s license
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer aptitude
  • Be able to present an end of the session review to location and American Implement Leadership
  • Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Taking pictures of equipment, moving and displaying equipment
  • Following up on Internet leads
  • Delivering equipment, including reviewing basic operations with customer
  • Completing internal equipment transfer and service requests
  • Maintaining and completing required inventory counts
  • Champion of one clinic/workshop at location
  • Support dealership needs as needed through wheat harvest
  • Supporting Precision Ag Demonstrations and Trainings
  • Gain knowledge and resolve Operation Center issues
  • Support teams with Compatibility Options
  • Manage licenses and review renewal opportunities
  • Basic phone and in-field support
  • Enter and verify daily technician time and matching
  • Monitor Warranty Expirations
  • Monitor Product Improvement Programs
  • Run daily reports on Productivity and Attendance and Delay on job code report
  • Learn Standard Job Pricing, Tech Level and Competency, and Warranty
  • Manage special tools inventory and organization
  • Learn and understand key parts metrics
  • Learn and assist parts ordering processes
  • Study inventory management
  • Leverage POP's program for promotions and specials
  • Understand shop parts procurement process
  • Help manage outstanding inner-branch transfer reports
  • Assist in receiving parts
  • Assist with bin counts and inventory
