About The Position

College Success offers a series of courses based on curricula that primarily address the academic and self-management skills that are necessary for student success. The foundational College Success 110 course provides an introduction to the Olympic College community, resources, and skills necessary for student success. Topics include goal setting, college resources, personal empowerment, career and academic planning, time management, study skills, and financial literacy. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Applying does not guarantee that a position will be available or offered. Candidates who are only available to teach online will not be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • College level teaching experience
  • Must be available to teach in-person

  • Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.
  • The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Teach College Success course(s) in accordance with the college catalog, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines;
  • Teach day and evening classes in person, some may be located on the branch campuses of Poulsbo and Shelton.
  • Provide quality teaching, including related preparation, grading, and record-keeping for assigned classes.
  • Contribute to College Success assessment efforts as needed.
  • Respond to students' queries in a timely fashion.
  • Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities to meet those needs;
  • Punctually communicate with students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
