Internship Program - College Students
About The Position
This is a full-time Internship Program designed for college students passionate about agriculture. Participants will gain hands-on experience across multiple departments within a leading John Deere dealership, offering a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural industry and dealership operations. The program aims to provide broad exposure before allowing interns to choose a specialty. Interns will rotate through the Sales, Integrated Solutions, Parts, and Service departments, learning about equipment remarketing, video marketing, precision agriculture technology, inventory management, and service processes. At the end of the internship, a final report will be presented to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Current college student pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Agricultural experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through key departments including Sales, Integrated Solutions, Parts, and Service.
- Evaluate used equipment with the remarketing team.
- Assist with video marketing projects.
- Shadow sales professionals during customer visits and appraisals.
- Explore John Deere Precision Ag technology and digital tools like Operations Center and JDLink™ Mobile.
- Learn the Parts Expert system and support inventory management.
- Help merchandise the showroom for promotions.
- Assist technicians with machine assembly.
- Participate in service inspections.
- Learn service processes and tools such as Service Advisor.
- Present a final report to senior leadership summarizing learnings, projects, and recommendations.
