About The Position

Platte Valley Companies offers a paid summer internship for college students to gain hands-on experience and explore potential career paths. Interns are matched with available departments and locations according to their skills and interests and current business needs. The program provides a practical introduction to daily business operations through opportunities to work with and observe multiple departments, see how teams collaborate, apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, and develop a broader understanding of career paths within the organization. The internship is offered at company locations in Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming. Expected pay is $17–$19 per hour, and benefits include paid time off accrual. Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in finance, business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including telephone communication.
• PC experience.
• Fundamental mathematical ability.
• Professional appearance.
• Competency in decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling, teamwork, and time management.
• Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.
• Ability to work with and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to perform the listed job activities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Work with and observe multiple departments to learn about daily business operations.
• Contribute to a department based on the intern’s skills and interests and current business needs.
• Apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting and observe how teams collaborate.
• Handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships appropriately.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
