About The Position

The College Intern will perform a wide range of activities and projects of varying levels of professional complexity within their area of specialty. This role provides general administrative and clerical support to assist with the department's daily operations and involves communicating professionally with staff, clients, and other internal or external contacts to support smooth and efficient workflows. The intern will assist with entry-level tasks and services aligned with the department’s goals and projects, receiving training, guidance, and mentorship from experienced staff to support professional growth. Responsibilities also include conducting basic research, helping prepare summaries, reports, or recommendations, and contributing to the planning and execution of special projects that support skill development and hands-on learning. The intern will collaborate with other departments as needed and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive documents, information, or discussions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, and current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or technical school.
  • Class schedule, transcripts or other documents verifying enrollment must be submitted with application.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer medical examination and background investigation.
  • Compliance with the safety guidelines of the County.
  • Completion of FEMA training(s) as assigned to the position.
  • Possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license.
