About The Position
RK&K is hiring a paid college intern for the Summer 2027 season to join its Water Resources Division in the Baltimore office. The internship provides on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to consulting engineering, including design, field work, and client management. Interns will encounter discipline-specific challenges, projects, and technology.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related area.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Participation in professional societies or extracurricular activities.
- Applicable prior internship experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or GIS.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of stormwater and storm drain systems.
- Assist in the design of erosion and sediment control practices.
- Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions and evaluate stormwater facilities and outfalls.
- Perform hydraulic modeling using TR55- and TR20-based models.
- Prepare construction plans and cost estimates.
- Assist in the design of stream restoration projects.
- Perform CADD work using MicroStation software.
