About The Position

The College Counseling Intern supports the day-to-day operations of the UHS College Counseling Department. This is a part-time, temporary role that involves in-person work on campus one day a week when school is in session, beginning immediately and lasting until the week of December 14, 2026.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
  • Commitment to working with youth and a passion for education
  • A growth mindset and a commitment to learn
  • Ability to deliver positive, constructive, and honest feedback, both written and verbal
  • Superior writing and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to hold others to high standards while also offering support and maintaining positive relationship
  • Familiarity with the following platforms: Google Suite, Zoom (familiarity with Canvas and/or MaiaLearning a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow through with assigned tasks and responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Canvas and/or MaiaLearning

Responsibilities

  • One day of in-person work each week through the end of the fall semester
  • Proofread teacher and counselor letters of recommendation
  • Greet and support admissions representatives when they visit campus
  • Read and give feedback on student writing
  • Attend afternoon study hall to support students
  • Provide extra support and structure to specific students, as directed
  • Participate in the administration of the PSAT on Wednesday, October 14
  • Support other tasks as needed
