About The Position

This role assists the campus Assistant Principal of CCMR in supporting student achievement and overall school effectiveness in college, career, and military readiness. The advisor guides students in developing career awareness and educational plans, assists with course selection and graduation plans, and promotes community understanding. They also participate in and coordinate activities for the college counseling program, counsel students individually or in groups, and assist students, staff, and parents in utilizing college, career, and military readiness resources. Additionally, the advisor coordinates school college trips and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
• Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree in guidance counseling is preferred.
