About The Position
The Department of Biology at New Mexico State University invites applications for a college-track Assistant Professor, beginning August 2027. This position is a full-time, exempt role within the Arts and Sciences College, specifically in the Biology Department, located in Las Cruces. The salary is commensurate with qualifications. This is an external search, open to all applicants, and is not a bargaining unit position.
Requirements
- PhD in Biology or a related life science field
- Minimum of 1 year of college-level teaching experience
- Experience in the development and/or implementation of innovative teaching methods and materials
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in lower division biology, genetics and microbiology courses as well as within their area of expertise.
- Advise undergraduate students with respect to their degree plans and academic progress and career pathways.
- Serve on departmental and college committees.
- Assist in the development of new undergraduate educational and research initiatives.
