About The Position

Baptist Search Partners is excited to partner with Crossroads Baptist to find their next College and Missions Pastor. The College and Missions Pastor plays a critical role in the life of Crossroads Baptist Church as a next generation leader and disciple-maker. Additionally, as the key staff leader over Crossroads’ Missions Ministry, this Pastor can build on a foundation of local, national, and global missions. The right leader will strategically develop new mission initiatives and foster partnerships to meet local needs, support North American church planters, and send teams across the world. Crossroads Baptist Church is a growing, multi-generational church with a clear mission “to glorify God by knowing Him and making Him known as we engage our campus, reach our city, and impact our world.” With average Sunday worship attendance around 1,000 and a broad range of ministry opportunities, the church serves as a strong gospel presence in the community. Those who come to Crossroads immediately feel at home because of the friendly and welcoming culture. Over the past five years, Crossroads has experienced significant growth, navigated space needs, initiated a capital campaign, and is building a new Family Life Center, the first of several phases of campus development. A more detailed job description will be provided during the interview process. In order to reach more college students and expand the Missions Ministry at Crossroads, this Pastor will be responsible to: Provide spiritual leadership and discipleship opportunities to college students. Engage college campuses in a way that reaches the lost, provides a visible ministry presence, and equips believing students to engage in personal evangelism. Plan and oversee weekly College Ministry gatherings, Bible studies, and small groups, as well as occasional fellowships and events. Recruit, train, equip, and encourage adult College Ministry leaders. Provide pastoral care to college students and the larger church body through personal relationships, counseling, prayer, and individual discipleship. Steward resources wisely and ensure administrative tasks are carried out effectively. Provide overall leadership to the Missions Ministry including budget development and management, volunteer leadership, trip planning and preparation, and local mission execution. Expand local mission partnerships, relationships with church planters, and mission trip offerings. Support the overall ministry of Crossroads Baptist by fulfilling pastoral duties, attending meetings and special events, and collaborating with other ministry teams. Valdosta, Georgia serves as the regional hub of South Georgia, offering the amenities of a larger city with the accessibility and pace of a close-knit community. With more than 120,000 people within driving distance of the church, the area provides a broad mission field with strong ties to education, healthcare, business, military families, and college life through Valdosta State University. Known as the “Capital of South Georgia,” Valdosta offers a historic downtown, local restaurants, community events, and convenient access along I-75, placing residents within a few hours of Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and the Gulf Coast. Families in Valdosta have access to a wide range of recreation, including Wild Adventures Theme Park, Splash Island Waterpark, Freedom Park, Grand Bay Wetland Education Center, local sports facilities, and outdoor opportunities across the surrounding region.
