About The Position

The College and Career Navigator works in the Adult Education department at Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College. The successful candidate meets regularly with students and community partners to provide support and resources to students in the adult education program. The navigator serves Warren County and collaborates with other College and Career Navigators in the service area to support student career pathways, progression, and transitions to post-secondary training or employment. The position reports directly to the Director of Adult Education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Two years of related experience.
• Ability and willingness to work in a high-paced environment.
• Planning and implementation skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with external partners.
• Ability to help students transition to work or post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners to increase enrollment, retention, and transition efforts.
• Support student career pathways, progression, and transitions to post-secondary training or employment in coordination with other College and Career Navigators.
• Assist with student intake and orientation, assessment analysis, and goal setting.
• Identify academic and non-academic barriers and develop mitigation strategies to improve student persistence and success.
• Connect students to community-partner wrap-around services for basic needs.
• Develop a written plan and checklist based on each student's preferred career pathway.
• Attend community partner meetings and events.
• Understand performance data, goals, and challenges.
• Identify at-risk students.
