New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) helps New Yorkers before, during, and after emergencies through preparedness, education, and response. NYCEM is responsible for coordinating citywide emergency planning and response for all types and scales of emergencies. We are staffed by more than 200 dedicated professionals with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. NYC Emergency Management’s Executive Office provides leadership and strategic direction for the agency’s day-to-day operations and emergency management mission. Led by the Commissioner, First Deputy Commissioner, and Chief of Staff, the Executive Office establishes agencywide priorities, drives key initiatives, and works across bureaus to strengthen the City’s preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. The Executive Office is seeking one college-level interns to support high-priority projects and the day-to-day work of the agency’s senior leadership. Interns will have the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to executive decision-making, emergency management, public-sector leadership, and the operations of a citywide agency.
