About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Project Controls Division, is seeking a College Aide to support project controls efforts. The selected candidate will perform schedule and cost analysis, risk analysis, and various data analytics tasks including transformation and visualization. Analytical work may be augmented with use of advanced tools including artificial intelligence. Responsibilities may include supporting the development of a historical cost database; creating a historical lessons learned repository; assisting with schedule and cost estimating for capital projects; contributing to claims avoidance policies and procedures; and updating the Project Controls Guide. The College Aide will gain competency in historical project data, including schedules, costs, building information models (BIM), issues, risk registers, delays, and other project performance data to support planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school to be eligible for the position.
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.).
  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
  • For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
  • For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
