About The Position

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking candidates with a passion for public service to fill a Collections Supervisor position in their Collections Enforcement Section. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule, headquartered at 30 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. The successful candidate will perform supervisory duties while fostering a team environment. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office plays a vital role in shaping Ohio's future, consisting of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. Staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year. Requirements

  • Completion of Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or related area or equivalent work experience
  • Previous supervisory or Team Lead experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a call center environment
  • Previous experience with reporting
  • Previous experience in a collections or legal environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains assigned staff.
  • Conducts staff meetings.
  • Performs monthly phone monitoring and reviews.
  • Assists team members with difficult callers and/or accounts.
  • Monitors team workflow and assists in work distribution.
  • Establishes work procedures and employee performance goals.
  • Evaluates record keeping policies and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepares records and reports.
  • Works with Information Technology Services (ITS) to troubleshoot issues with business tools.
  • Handles sensitive contact with the public.
  • Handles varied public relations duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
