About The Position

Mascoma Bank is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Collections Specialist I to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to manage tasks associated with delinquent accounts of the bank, while maintaining positive client relationships.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal communication
• Ability to use and possess a working knowledge of computers
• Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy
• Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with MB appearance policy

Nice To Haves

• Collections experience preferred
• Banking experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of general residential collection functions.
• Communicate with customers to discuss delinquency status on accounts by telephone, email, mail or in person.
• Handle customer questions and correspondence related to customer delinquency – by telephone, email, mail or in person.
• Maintain collection files by: Documenting action taken/promised within our systems.
• Providing instruction for applying payments to past due loans.
• Reviewing accounting to ensure accuracy.
• Maintaining loan files with regard to delinquency.
• Handling routine issues and answering routine questions as related to the collections function.
