About The Position

CMHC is looking for a full-time Fall intern to join the Collection and Recoveries team from September through December 2026. This internship program is designed to foster growth through access to training resources, engaging projects, and networking sessions that support professional development and help interns discover their full potential. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a College or University degree in a related discipline such as business administration, commerce, paralegal, finance, or accounting.
  • Previous experience in a related field such as banking, accounting, legal assistant, paralegal, etc. Experience can be acquired through studies, work experience or volunteer activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication in both official languages.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
  • Good judgment.
  • Bilingualism (English and French)

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage the receipt and processing of all incoming judgment and bankruptcy documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the coordination of action items and decisions and follows up with the management team to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Make recommendations for approvals and courses of action related to legal issues, non-standard requests, and processes documentation or data such as applications/requests, commitments, and payment requisitions.
  • Update and validate all databases and systems as required to meet the division's turnaround times and assist with annual recovery targets.
  • Act as a liaison between business lines and plays a role in collecting and disseminating information that is crucial to the achievement of business objectives and project deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships and communicates with external parties such as lenders, service providers, trustees, and solicitors to follow up on incomplete documentation until all necessary information is received.
  • Coordinate the collection of data to produce status reports and other reports as needed by management.
