Under general direction, is responsible for supervising crews engaged in the construction, investigation, maintenance, power cleaning, or repair of wastewater/stormwater collection systems. This role involves overseeing employees performing installation, repair, and maintenance of storm and sanitary sewer lines, as well as investigating citizen complaints related to sewer backups, flooding, and other related issues. The supervisor coordinates crew activities, provides guidance on difficult investigations, inspects project progress, and collaborates with management on job priorities and maintenance programs. Additionally, the role involves instructing personnel on work methods and safety, verifying data in a computerized maintenance management system, preparing reports, and assisting other city agencies. The supervisor also manages work orders, service requests, and the dispatch of investigations, contributes to process development, participates in hiring, and handles performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Court testimony may also be required.
