About The Position
The Collection System Monitoring Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a large network of rainfall, groundwater, and collection system flow monitoring stations distributed throughout the city. The City of Springfield’s sanitary sewer collection system has its documented beginnings in 1894, when the first sewers were constructed west of Grant Ave. between College and Walnut Street. The system is now an extensive and growing infrastructure that carries wastewater from area industries, businesses, and residences to the wastewater treatment plants.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years education, training or work experience in sewer inspection, plumbing systems, street/sewer construction, electronics, electrical or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years using software applications.
- Familiarity with data acquisition software.
- Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA) Class C Collection Systems Operator Certification (required within first year of employment).
- OSHA 10 certification (required within first year of employment).
- Certification in confined space entry (required within first year of employment).
