About The Position

Under general direction from the General Manager, plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of the District’s sewer collection system and related facilities. This is an “at will” management classification; the incumbent serves at the pleasure of the District and his/her employment can be terminated at any time, with or without cause or advance notice.

Requirements

• Five years of experience in the maintenance of a sewer collection system
• At least two years of supervisory or lead experience
• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
• Specialized training in maintenance or operations
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license
• A motor vehicle record that meets the District’s driving standards
• Computer skills highly desirable

Nice To Haves

• Possession of, or ability to obtain within two years of appointment, a CWEA Grade IV Certificate in Collection System Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement a preventive maintenance program for the collection system
• Develop, audit, and update the Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP)
• Act as legally responsible official (LO) for certifying SSO reports
• Assist with budget preparation
• Supervise employees, evaluate their performance, and impose discipline
• Manage insurance claims related to the collection system
• Perform other duties as assigned
