About The Position

Flex is seeking a Cold Room Lead in Salt Lake City, Utah, to provide leadership and direction to groups of employees within the department. This role supports the Production Supervisor by coordinating people resources, communicating priority tasks, ensuring production goals are met, and maintaining smooth communication between shifts. The Lead will also be responsible for ensuring material availability, monitoring quality indicators, organizing workstations, identifying and resolving production errors, and motivating and mentoring employees. A key aspect of this role is promoting compliance with 5S+1 and quality assurance practices, acting as a supervisor's first point of contact, and filling in for the supervisor when necessary. The position also requires ensuring reasonable accommodations are met for employees.

Requirements

  • Proficient in all Flex technologies and manufacturing techniques.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competency and functional/ process knowledge while leading manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and may improve processes by applying new techniques.
  • Able to conduct on the job training and lead employees.
  • Ability to understand and speak English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate people resource requirements for the department.
  • Communicate priority tasks to team daily and lead efforts towards production goals.
  • Alert other departments about planned and unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure lines are supplied with sufficient materials to avoid downtime due to shortages.
  • Update “pass down” and “down time” communication reports to ensure communication flow with opposite shift.
  • Follow quality indicators and alert others if predefined indicators fall below the target.
  • Organize employees’ at assigned workstations and rearrange assignments when necessary.
  • Identify cause of mass failures and make necessary adjustments to overcome errors.
  • Motivate and mentor individual employees and small groups of employees.
  • Monitor employees’ performance and communicate to trainers what additional training is needed.
  • Have the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform all job requirements in area of responsibility.
  • Be a leader in promoting compliance with 5S+1 and quality assurance practices.
  • Be supervisors first point of contact and be able to fill in for supervisor when necessary.
  • Ensure that accepted reasonable accommodations are met for employees in area of responsibility.
