The Cold Forming Operator sets up and operates assigned mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role involves working under minimal supervision, handling complex equipment issues, ensuring product quality, and supporting team performance and training.

Requirements

Cold forming or mechanical experience required.
Ability to perform work under minimal supervision.
Comprehensive working knowledge of the subject matter.
Ability to interpret work instructions.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent people skills.
Intermediate mathematical skills.
Advanced use of required gaging instruments and understanding of their application.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate assigned mechanical equipment.
Check that items produced pass quality control requirements.
Troubleshoot equipment and perform adjustments or repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
Use required gaging instruments.
Collaborate with team members to increase overall throughput.
Assist the Lead or Supervisor as needed.
Consult with management and help with training.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
Adhere to 5S standards, including maintaining a clean work area.
Follow Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Oversee complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
