About The Position

As a Cold Forming Header Operator, you’ll be part of our team located in Elyria, OH. You’ll get to set up and operate solid and open die headers, including progressive type headers and all associated production equipment. You will also set up and operate thread rollers and other equipment associated with the heading operation. Your responsibilities will include etching critical progressions and checking for seams, scratches, cold shuts, chevrons, ring in bearing surfaces and any other defects that will affect fatigue. You will also be responsible for volume control, balancing material flow, and achieving proper flowlines. A key part of this role is completing dimensional inspection, including and not limited to contour tracing, profile tracing, and critical radii tracing. You will interpret macroscopic surface non-conformities and material flow defects, and have the capability to master the Cold Forming Trimming Operation. You will maintain a high level of production integrity and controls.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Must be familiar with tooling and be able to suggest tooling for new types of work.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring the employee to stand and walk for majority of an 8 to 10-hour day.
Bend, lift product, equipment and tools up to 50 pounds throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

Prefer experience with Cold Heading machines.
Participate in progression layout development, tool life improvements and quality advancements.

Responsibilities
