About The Position

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the welded tube area, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and productivity standards. The operator will handle coils, perform inspections and maintenance on equipment, and utilize various tools and systems to produce and pack material according to specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform inspection of all equipment in the welded tube area including cranes, annealer, coiler, etc.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to use jib crane or overhead crane to handle coils.
  • Ability to ensure that material being produced conforms to specs and tolerances (level wind, OD, etc.).
  • Ability to use measurement tools to measure tube OD, coil OD & ID, etc. (micrometers, tape measure, calipers, etc.).
  • Ability to operate hoist/cranes to remove material from coiler.
  • Ability to keep the WIP warehouses area clean and organized.
  • Ability to MRT material if found out of spec.
  • Ability to set-up, adjust, and monitor in-line annealing system.
  • Ability to pack material according to procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to set-up, adjust, and monitor purging system.
  • Ability to set-up, adjust, and monitor marking systems.
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.
  • Ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
  • Ability to handle basic math.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and tape measure, where interpretation is required.
  • Ability to operate a jib crane, overhead crane, and electric pallet jacks.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple reference material such as printed instructions and blueprints.
  • Excellent mental and visual attention to monitor operations involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of process related standards.
  • Proven ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external team members.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust, and monitor marking systems.
