About The Position

The Coffee Shop Manager / Lead Barista is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and excellent coffee experience for our church, guests, and community. This is a hands-on role combining lead barista responsibilities with oversight of the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop. This position will lead the barista team, manage scheduling and inventory, and ensure the coffee shop is clean, organized, well-stocked, and ready to serve. As the coffee shop expands, this position has the opportunity to grow into a broader management role with increased responsibility for the overall operation and growth of the coffee shop.

Requirements

Previous barista, coffee shop, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred, with a willingness to continue developing coffee and espresso knowledge.
Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage schedules, inventory, and people.
Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to take initiative while demonstrating a servant-hearted approach to leadership and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Lead Barista, preparing high-quality coffee and espresso drinks while setting the standard for excellent customer service.
Create a warm, welcoming, and hospitable environment for church attendees, guests, staff, and community members.
Maintain consistent standards for drink quality, recipes, presentation, speed, cleanliness, and overall customer experience.
Create and maintain the barista schedule, ensuring appropriate coverage for operating hours, Sundays, and special events.
Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop baristas while providing ongoing coaching and clear expectations.
Build a positive, dependable, and team-oriented culture centered around hospitality, excellence, and serving others.
Manage inventory levels for coffee, milk, syrups, cups, food products, cleaning supplies, and other coffee shop materials.
Coordinate ordering, receiving, organizing, and rotating inventory to ensure the coffee shop remains properly stocked while minimizing waste.
Maintain organized storage areas and establish appropriate inventory levels and reorder points for frequently used products.
Ensure the coffee shop is clean, organized, stocked, and prepared for daily operations, Sundays, and special events.
Maintain effective opening, closing, cleaning, sanitation, and equipment procedures to create consistent day-to-day operations.
Identify and implement improvements that increase the clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness of coffee shop operations.
