About The Position

As a Coffee Retail Manager, you are responsible for ensuring a seamless and exceptional dining experience for students. You lead the front-of-house team of cashiers and Baristas, overseeing service quality, training staff, and maintaining a warm and inviting dining atmosphere. Your leadership helps create a memorable dining experience while ensuring efficiency, professionalism, and adherence to hospitality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of dietary standards, special diets, and food safety principles.
  • Previous dining room experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisor or management role, overseeing a Front of the House team or Coffee House Operations.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate food service staff.
  • A positive attitude, great teamwork skills, and a commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, depending on the business needs.
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk; ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • State/County Food Handler Certification - if required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily dining, coffee bar, cashier efficiency, and retail area to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Your priority focus will be on Breakfast and Lunch service, making sure students have a memorable experience.
  • Lead, train, and mentor cashiers, servers on the line and baristas staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Oversee table settings, presentation, and dining room cleanliness.
  • Coordinate meal service with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Interact with students, addressing concerns and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and assist with scheduling.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
  • Assist with hosting special events, private dining experiences, and themed meals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall dining experience.
