About The Position

The Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional, high-quality coffee and beverage experiences in a fast-paced, high-volume café environment. This role requires strong technical barista skills, speed, and consistency while maintaining strict adherence to recipes, preparation standards, and service excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced barista who thrives under pressure, takes pride in their craft, and is committed to executing beverages with precision while creating a welcoming and engaging guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of barista experience required, preferably in a high-volume or specialty coffee environment
  • Hands-on experience with manual espresso machines and grinder calibration strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outgoing and guest-focused personality
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems, including Simphony Micros preferred
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and act proactively
  • Must maintain a valid California Food Handler’s Card

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming and efficient service experience
  • Demonstrate strong menu knowledge and confidently guide guests through offerings
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, attentive service
  • Maintain composure and professionalism during high-volume service periods
  • Prepare espresso-based and specialty beverages with precision, speed, and consistency
  • Dial in espresso and adjust grinders as needed to ensure optimal extraction and flavor
  • Execute proper milk steaming and texturing techniques; maintain quality presentation standards
  • Follow all recipes and preparation standards, except if required to accommodate guest requests or as directed by management
  • Ensure all beverages meet quality expectations; proactively remake drinks when standards are not met
  • When requested deliver food and drink items to table
  • Maintain an efficient workflow and station organization during peak and non-peak periods
  • Set up, stock, and break down workstation in a timely and consistent manner
  • Monitor café and seating areas for cleanliness; clear and reset tables as needed
  • Follow all cash handling and POS procedures accurately
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels throughout shifts
  • Company with all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
  • Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and illness reporting requirements
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Take ownership of beverage quality and guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrate consistency in execution across all shifts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment and work areas
  • Follow all equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance procedures; report issues promptly
  • Support team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Actively promote café offerings and hotel amenities
  • Contribute to achieving outlet financial and service goals
  • Maintain professional and respectful working relationships at all times
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure the café environment consistently reflects high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and elevate coffee and service standards
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned
