About The Position

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Coding Specialist to join their Health Information Management team. This role involves ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive coding and abstracting for facility and professional fees. The specialist will work independently, problem-solve, and effectively communicate with physicians, providers, and colleagues. The position requires knowledge in multiple specialties within hospital and/or clinic settings, including Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Orthopedics, ENT, Cardiology, Pain Management, OB/GYN, Breast Care, and Radiology. Experience with outpatient surgeries, Physician Professional Fees, and nursing home or assisted living center settings is also expected.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure required: CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years Facility and/or Professional Fee Coding experience, preferred.
1-2 years in acute care setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

Work independently with the ability to problem solve.
Utilize the appropriate use of ICD-10-CM and CPT 4 codes.
Communicate effectively with physicians, other providers, and co-workers.
Be responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive coding, and abstracting of facility and professional fee coding.
