In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s product development and marketing initiatives by developing, managing, and executing conformity assessment activities. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite in Memphis, TN. This role is contributing to the ELIP division in US/LATAM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent with demonstrated technical and analytical aptitude.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with electrical codes, standards, and their processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel including weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with external and internal customers through written and verbal communication (English)
  • Ability to plan and oversee multiple projects and all related activities, interpret specifications (UL, CSA, Military and Internal) and test data.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and use Microsoft Office products.
  • Applicants must possess work authorization to work permanently in the United States now and in the future

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product certification organizations (ex.: UL, CSA, etc.) as well as numerous ABB functions, to maintain the accuracy of product certification records throughout the lifecycle of products.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute certification projects including management of third-party activities, mechanical/electrical assembly of samples, set up of tests, preparation of reports, analysis of data, preparation of documentation and preparation of status reports.
  • Identify and communicate industry and regulatory trends and changes, (ex.: competitive activities, codes, standards, processes, etc.) that could affect new product development, product certification, product design, manufacturing technology, or market acceptance.
  • Represent the company as a member or leader on industry technical committees, policy committees and other technical industry forums with travel up to 10% of work time.
  • Maintain effective relationships with certification organizations while adhering to company’s ethics policies.
  • Act in advisory capacity to engineering, marketing, and laboratory staff in areas of codes and standards and assist product engineers in determining testing requirements for product’s compliance to standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of identified codes and standards that define product and system performance, construction, and safe application.
