About The Position

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Coder. This is a part-time position, Monday–Friday, with the schedule to be determined at the time of hire. The role is responsible for maintaining coding compliance for a multi-specialty clinic, auditing procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail, and comprehensive description of clinical procedures. The Coder will also maintain current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and coding skills, utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail, and interpret and apply Medicare (CCI) and payer edits. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma required
• Certified Professional Coder is required
• Coding experience preferred
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
• Must have strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment
• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures
• Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies
• Proficient skills in computer programs
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret medical charts
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others
