About The Position

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Coder at their Kaysville Business Office. This is a part-time position, Monday-Friday, with the schedule to be determined at the time of hire. The role is responsible for maintaining coding compliance for a multi-specialty clinic, auditing procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail, and comprehensive description of clinical procedures. The Coder will also be responsible for maintaining current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and coding skills, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail software, and interpreting and applying Medicare (CCI) and payer edits. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Certified Professional Coder is required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment.
• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies.
• Proficient skills in computer programs.
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret medical charts.
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others.

Nice To Haves

• Coding experience preferred.
