About The Position
The Coder reviews patient records for completeness and accuracy to help ensure patient health information is managed to a high standard and maintained in accordance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory standards. The role identifies, compiles, abstracts, and codes patient data using current standard classification systems. The Coder also assists the Health Information Management Director by abstracting clinical information from patient records for diagnostic code assignment and performing physician queries when necessary.

Responsibilities
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy.
- Help ensure patient health information is maintained in accordance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory standards.

- Assist the Health Information Management Director with abstracting clinical information from patient records for diagnostic code assignment.
- Perform physician queries when necessary.
