A coder for Nexus Health Systems is primarily responsible for accurate coding and DRG assignment across all Nexus facilities. Under the supervision of the System Director Health Information Management, the coder must maintain professional certification and demonstrate working knowledge of LTC MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and CPT coding requirements. Key responsibilities include admission, concurrent, and discharge coding, meeting facility coding turnaround times, abstracting, ensuring coding query compliance, collaborating with CDI to enhance physician documentation, and utilizing metrics. This is a 100% remote corporate position based out of Nexus Specialty Hospital, with required travel to the facility only for scheduled meetings and mandatory in-services.
