About The Position

The Coder Analyst II accurately codes and abstracts diagnoses and procedures occurring during a patient’s episode of care in a timely manner so the facility receives proper reimbursement.

Requirements

• One year of direct position-related experience is required.
• Experience coding in a hospital, clinic, or physician office is required.
• Basic computer knowledge is required, with evidence of Windows training and/or experience demonstrating competency.
• Maintain certification through continuing education.
• Skill in applying coding guidelines established by various third-party payors is required.
• RHIT or RHIA credential from the American Health Information Management Association is required.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is strongly preferred.
