About The Position
Under authority of the Director of Building & Code Enforcement, this position will be responsible for the enforcement of Township and State codes and ordinances, and performs various tasks, including, but not limited to: inspects and monitors buildings and home construction sites; issuance of citations and letters to homeowners or developers; provides information on Township regulations to homeowners and developers; preserves the quality of business and neighborhoods; performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior law enforcement training or equivalent experience
- Previous Building Department, Planning & Zoning, or Code Enforcement experience in the Public Sector (i.e., county or municipality)
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Test
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and an operable insured automobile for authorized travel
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of five (5) years code enforcement and/or law enforcement experience
- Experience with BS&A software
- Ability to speak, read and understand a language other than English
