About The Position

The City of Fraser is seeking an experienced code enforcement officer. The primary purpose of this job is to assist in protecting the property values of homes within the City by making sure that properties are maintained. Investigate complaints from residents regarding property maintenance, junk, debris, unlicensed vehicles, and various other problems on private property. Communicates effectively with homeowners, tenants, landlords and business owners regarding complaints and or violations which they have been issued. Inspects properties for rodent harborage. Reinspects properties and issues court notices for violations not corrected within a reasonable or specified period of time. Issues notices to homeowners informing them the violation exists and what they should do to correct them. Independently drives throughout the city to observe and identify violations of the blight and junk ordinance. Operates a standard camera to photograph property conditions. Maintains all files and records of properties where an inspection has been made. Performs all clerical work pertaining to code enforcement activities. Presents case facts to the City Attorney and testifies on District Court if necessary. Assists residents at the counter, or answers telephone calls, regarding questions, complaints, or neighbor problems. Provides information as to what the responsibility of the city is.
