The current vacancy is in the Shasta County Department of Resource Management. This position involves performing a variety of field inspection and investigative duties related to the interpretation and enforcement of County codes, ordinances, and regulations. These regulations cover areas such as building construction, substandard and dangerous buildings, grading and drainage, zoning and land use, health, housing, CEQA, and sewage disposal systems and water wells. The role requires preparing written recommendations and reports on code enforcement projects. The Code Enforcement Officer I is an entry-level position under supervision, handling routine investigations, while the Code Enforcement Officer II is the journey-level position, working independently with general supervision and handling more complex investigations.
