About The Position

The Cocktail Server is responsible for taking and delivering customer orders, ensuring guest satisfaction, and finalizing checks. This role involves efficiently and accurately serving food and drinks, preparing and serving cocktails, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections. The server will also be knowledgeable about hotel services, features, and local attractions to assist guests. Additionally, the position requires performing opening and closing duties, resolving guest complaints, and reporting any unusual events or issues.

Requirements

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of beverages on menu, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
• Highly motivated and energetic personality.
• Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
• Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ Months of Prior Relevant Experience as a cocktail and/or food server in a similar environment
• Experience working in a similar resort setting.

Responsibilities

• Take order(s), and serve food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable.
• Place order(s), and garnish and serve cocktails to guests.
• Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available.
• Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment to include fold/stack cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.
