About The Position

This is a Full Time position at NOOKSACK NORTHWOOD CASINO in LYNDEN, WA. The role involves promoting customer service as a priority by being attentive to guests’ needs, providing prompt and courteous service, and taking and filling food and beverage orders. The position also includes following up with guests to ensure satisfaction, assisting in resolving guest issues, and maintaining an appropriate stock level in wait stations. The server must comply with company and department policies, maintain their assigned section by bussing glasses, dishes, and cleaning ash trays, and assist the bartender with washing glasses. A professional and neat appearance, both personally and of the work area, is required. The role also involves maintaining confidentiality of company and player information and recommending refusal of service to intoxicated guests in accordance with Washington State liquor laws and casino policies. Other duties may be assigned, including lounge serving and bartending if over 21.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State Gaming Commission licenses.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Obtain and maintain a Class 12 or 13 Alcohol Servers permit.
Obtain and maintain Gaming TIPS certification.
Obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Handler’s permit.

Responsibilities

Promote customer service as a priority by being attentive to guests’ needs.
Provide prompt, courteous service.
Take and fill food and beverage orders.
Follow up with existing guests to ensure satisfaction.
Assist in resolving any adverse guest issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
Maintain an appropriate level of stock in wait stations, including stocking and filling of coffee, tea, powdered beverages, ice, juices, half and half, whipped cream, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, silverware, glasses, straws etc.
Comply with company and department policies and procedures while practicing positive customer and employee relations.
Maintain assigned section, including bussing glasses, dishes and the cleaning of ash trays.
Assist bartender with the washing of glasses.
Maintain a professional and neat appearance of work area.
Maintain a professional and neat personal appearance and represent the company in a positive manner.
Maintain confidentiality of company and player information.
Recommend refusal of service to guests due to intoxication, in accordance with Washington State liquor laws and set policies and procedures of the Nooksack River Casino.
Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned, including lounge serving and bartending (if over the age of 21), by instruction from management.
