Starting Pay: $21.20 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicants have been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a lead/supervisory role and/or a minimum of 6 months in poultry related field.
  • Lead positions must currently have and consistently maintain four attendance points or less.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 500-1500 lbs.
  • Overhead lifting is required.
  • Required to work on wet and slippery surfaces each day.
  • Regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Proficiency running the Embrex Machine.
  • Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
  • Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required when handling chemicals.
  • Ear plugs will be used as needed.
  • Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment.
  • Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the Embrex crew.
  • Sanitize the lab and mix vaccine.
  • Calculate the amount of vaccine to be used, order vaccine and prepare vaccine bags.
  • Prepare labels and breakout tags for the day.
  • Collect and complete all paperwork along with any daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Order vaccine and lab supplies, operate a high pressure and regular water hose, maintains foot pans and hand sanitizers, and maintain a clean an organized work area.
  • Monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance.
